FAKTR stands for “Functional And Kinetic Treatment with Rehabilitation.” It was developed to help speed recovery from chronic musculoskeletal pain syndromes and has also been shown to work extremely well to treat acute musculoskeletal/fascial conditions.

FAKTR involves the combination of several different forms of therapy. Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) is used to locate and remove myofascial adhesions or restrictions. This is combined with rehabilitation exercises to strengthen the tissues while restrictions are being removed. FAKTR-PM also allows the patient to be treated in a position of provocation. This means that the patient is treated in a position that causes symptoms like pain, tightness, or stiffness. By treating patients in a position of provocation, the provider is able to locate and treat the problem that is causing the symptoms.
