If you are stumbling across this post at first it may come off to some as arrogant, rude, or make you feel like I am unapproachable.  Whatever you think, just know that there is a reason for me putting this out there and it is to help others determine we could even help you or see if we are a good fit.

What do I do?

If you have been in the workforce for any amount of time you will have answered this question a bazillion times.  “What do you do” is the basis for every networking group or social gathering you have ever been to and will ever be at.  To me, this is such a broad question that understates the importance of everyone’s job or career.

So…  What do you do?

I typically answer “Sports Chiropractor” just to make it simple but often times I think in the back of my mind that is such a limited answer.  I mean really, I help humanity in ways that many people do not even think about!

Yes, I get people out of pain.  Yes, I help them improve their movements, and yes I educate them on how the body works, but what does that do for you?  By helping to get you out of pain, improving your movements, and creating a stronger body, I allow you to regain confidence and control in your body and yourself.

Have you ever seen someone in pain and happy? NO! If you are in pain, have crappy movements, and are constantly thinking about your problems how can you be great at your sport, activity?  What about being an amazing spouse, mother or father? Work? Forget it!  Can you really do what you want and make yourself and others happy when you cannot do what you love?  NO!

So when people ask me what I do, I want to say, “Improving Humanity” I don’t just TRULY believe it, I KNOW IT!

No Seriously, What Do You Do?

On a more straightforward answer I perform assessments (examinations) that help me evaluate a patients condition.  From this point I can then decide if it’s best to treat you and/or refer you out.  Within context, most of these types of patients initially come to me for pain, improved performance, and to maintain their bodies.

So after the initial examination I will tell the patient what I think is going on with them, why, how, and then explain what we are going to do about it.  Essentially this is the time where I educate you on your body.

From here, we come up with a plan of attack.  This often is decided on your personality, goals, health history, examination, pain levels, and much more!  Within the Chiropractic world, I specialize in treating sports injuries with a large emphasis on rehabilitation and soft tissue dysfunction.

Here are some of the things you may see if you work with me:

  • Examination/Evaluation AKA assessment
  • Report of Findings
  • Rehabilitation advice
  • Programming advice (workout, training, your current program)
  • Soft tissue work (Myofascial release, Graston, Active Release)
  • Nutritional advice
  • Goal Setting advice that is custom and functional for you.
  • MORE

How Can I Help You?

Want to improve your body or health?  Get out of pain?  Become more mobile or improve your performance in any given activity?  If you answered yes to any of these, then we could be a good fit for you.

But first…

Who I Don’t Work With! (Do not pass go, do not collect $200)

Should I just list this out in bullet points or go on a rant?  Okay, bullet points are easier but try and answer the following honestly if you can.

  • Looking for a quick fix?  Keep moving!
  • Not looking for the long-term picture?
  • Those who think its free and cheap
  • Are you a complainer?
  • Do you really think I am going to fix it all and you wont have to put in any work, time, or energy?

Why Won’t I Work With You?

Because after seeing thousands of patients, I know what gets results and what does not.  Most people are not committed to themselves so how can they commit to others programs?  Exactly, you can’t!

Over the years I have seen people give up way to easily and never actually get better.  They keep coming back for the same damn injury or they are constantly getting re-injured or are in pain.  I will tell you honestly as a practitioner that this sucks too and you are our worst type of patient!  Yes, you and here is why?

BECAUSE we don’t want to see you in pain but it sucks more that I have to have the same damn conversation over and over when I already know you wont change your ways.  If your ways worked so well, you wouldn’t be here or you would be seeing me for maintenance.  I am just saying all of this from experience so while I do care about you, I don’t care to treat you and we not a good fit.

As a matter of fact, I think I refer out more people that I take in now because they do not pass my initial screening process.

Who I DO Work With?

Bullet points please…

  • Those who are deeply committed to themselves
  • Willing to put in the time, energy, and work
  • Show up on time
  • Want to improve your quality of life?
  • Results oriented
  • Willing to try new things or ask questions?
  • Do you have a good attitude?
  • Active individuals, those aspiring to become more active, those wanting to maintain.
  • Aspiring athlete, youth athlete, or professional athlete?
  • Weekend Warrior?

Imagine what its like to go from 20 pounds overweight and in pain to running a half marathon in 6 months?  Picture what its like to get out of pain and be able to focus more on your work, life, and family?  To give them the attention they need!  What about being able to pick up your son or go on that epic vacation or hike you always wanted but couldn’t because of your back pain?  Want to avoid that surgery?  Win an elite tournament or game?  Well, I have seen all of these happen!

This is what makes me tic!  Its seeing my patients get the results they want and being able to live the life they dream of.  Most patients who get results have these things in common.

The truth is its not hard but you do have to commit to yourself first.  Once you do this, all the pieces will fall into place because then you will be willing to do what is necessary not for me, for yourself and your life.  From here, maybe one day we can work together whether it is in person or via coaching.
